IRISH NUMBER PLATES
AND IRISH CAR REGISTRATIONS
These unusual 3 LETTER IRISH CAR NUMBER PLATES have nothing to indicate
their year of issue and thus you may hide the age of your vehicle inexpensively.
They are issued with up to 4 random numbers eg. DAZ 2246
The fewer the letters & numbers- the rarer & more expensive they become. eg XL 391 £2500
(TIP: All 3-letter Irish combinations contain either an I or a Z)

The Irish number plates issued are shown below
Irish number plates are distinctly different from UK Mainland car number plates because the 3 letter combination (which is always at the beginning of the number plate) always contains either the letter I or Z. This means that you will not always find the three letters you are looking for on an Irish Plate (unless your initials contain I's an Z's).If there is a Z on the number plates then this is always the last (3rd) letter and because some people think this looks very like a number 2 they concentrate on the first 2 letters on the number plate instead.
Northern Irish number plates can be transferred to any age of vehicle in the UK and so are often used to cover up the age of the car, van, taxi, bus etc quite cheaply. There are many combinations of Irish plates available more info . The letters in the plate depend on which county in Northern Ireland they come from. Some counties are small and have less vehicles than others, therefore less registration marks are issued.
Irish numerplate transfers take longer than UK Mainland transfers. The minimum transfer time is 6 weeks and some take more than twice as long depending on the complexity of the transfer. There are sometimes two transfer fees to pay depending on whether the registration number has ever been assigned to a car or not.
When you call us we will check availability with the seller in Northern Ireland before confirming the transfer time so that you know exactly what the circumstances are.
Nothern Irish number plates represent excellent value for money even if two transfer fees are payable to the Government.

NUMBER PLATE NEWS
DVLA * Register Of Number Plate Suppliers
1 January 2003 all number plate suppliers in England and Wales will
be required by law to register their details with DVLA *. From that
date a business will be unable to trade as a supplier unless it
A Number Plate Supplier is someone whose business consists wholly or partly of supplying number plates i.e. finished plates that incorporate the registration mark of a vehicle registered with DVLA *. Manufacturers, distributors, assemblers, motor factors, motor dealers and retail outlets including on-line retailers could fall within the scope of the scheme provided that they supply the finished product. Motor dealers who refit their used vehicles for sale with replacement number plates would be classed as number plate suppliers.
If a business supplies only blank plates or other components or materials it will not be required to register. People who manufacture plates solely for their own use, rather than supply to third parties, are not within the scope of the legislation e.g. a fleet operator who assembles plates and fits them only to vehicles in his fleet. As he does not supply the plates, he is not a supplier for the purposes of the legislation. However, if the business supplies plates for any other purpose eg for an employee's private use, it is regarded as a Number Plate Supplier.
Those exempt include :
Number Plate Suppliers who only supply plates for newly registered vehicles.
Number plate suppliers who do not sell plates in England and Wales.
Manufacturers of number plate components who do not sell complete plates.
Businesses that assemble plates for their own use or fit them to their own vehicles but do not supply them to anyone else. (A motor trader who fits new plates to used vehicles to sell on is not exempt because the plates are supplied along with the vehicle).
Liasing with the DVLA *,DVLC on behalf of our clients, we are registered to supply license plates, transfer personalised number plates, personal registration marks, cherished number plates, custom number plates, private number plates nationwide
